Privacy policy

Plain language, no boilerplate padding. What this site collects, why we have it, who else touches it, and how to make us delete it.

Who this covers

This policy covers Mavorix Media, the marketing agency founded by Sadie Ortiz and based in San Antonio, Texas, and it covers this website and the inquiries sent through it.

It does not cover the websites, social accounts, or advertising platforms belonging to our clients, even where we manage them. Those are governed by the client's own policies and by the platform's terms.

What you give us

The only information this site asks for is what you type into the contact form, or what you tell us if you call or email instead. That is:

  • Your first name.
  • Your last name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your phone number.
  • Your business name.
  • Which service you are asking about.
  • Whatever you write in the message field.

All of these are required. We ask for the phone number and the business name because both get used when we call you back.

What gets collected automatically

Like every website, this one runs on servers that keep request logs. Those logs record technical details such as an IP address, a browser and device type, the pages requested, and the time of the request. They exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

Where a website analytics tool is switched on, it counts page views and measures how quickly pages load. It may store a small identifier in your browser or record general device information so a return visit is not counted twice.

The contact form carries spam protection. When it is active it looks at technical signals from the submission to tell an automated post from a real one. It is checking the submission, not building a profile of you.

This site does not run advertising pixels or retargeting tags, and it is not used to build advertising audiences.

Why we use it

Every use of your information traces back to one of these reasons:

  • To read your inquiry and reply to it.
  • To contact you about the thing you contacted us about, by email or phone.
  • To keep an ordinary business record of who asked us for what.
  • To keep the site online, fast, and free of automated abuse.
  • To understand which pages are useful, at the level of counts rather than individuals.

What we do not do with it

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone who wants to market to you. There is no data broker in this picture.

Sending the form does not sign you up for anything. We reply about your inquiry. If a mailing list ever exists, joining it will be a separate and deliberate choice you make, not a checkbox you have to find and clear.

Who else sees it

A small business runs on other people's tools, and being straight about that matters more than pretending otherwise. Your information may pass through:

  • The hosting and content delivery provider that serves these pages.
  • The email delivery service that carries your inquiry to our inbox, and the email provider that holds the inbox.
  • Website analytics and performance measurement, where enabled.
  • The spam protection service on the contact form, where enabled.

Each of them gets only what it needs to do that job. None of them is permitted to use your information for their own marketing. We do not pass your inquiry to another agency, contractor, or partner without telling you first.

How long we keep it

Inquiries are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them: to answer you, to pick the conversation back up if you return, and to keep normal business and tax records. Server logs and analytics data are kept for the period the provider retains them, which is short by comparison.

If you want your inquiry deleted sooner, ask, and we will delete what we are not required by law to keep.

Your choices and how to make a request

Email [email protected] and tell us what you want. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can tell us to stop contacting you, and we will stop.

We may need to confirm you are the person the information belongs to before we act, which usually means replying from the address that sent the inquiry.

Privacy rights vary by state and by country. Whatever rights apply where you live, we will honor them. You do not need to cite a statute to get a straight answer from us.

Most browsers can block or clear cookies and send a do not track or global privacy signal. This site works with cookies blocked.

Security, and what not to send

The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to the inquiry inbox is limited to the people who need it. No website and no inbox can promise perfect security, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.

So: do not send sensitive information through a web form. No account numbers, no card details, no government identification numbers, no passwords, and nothing covered by a confidentiality agreement. If something sensitive needs to reach us, ask on a call and we will arrange a sensible way to send it.

Children

This site is for business owners. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

Where this site links somewhere else, that site has its own policy and its own practices. We do not control them and we are not responsible for them. Read their policy before you hand them anything.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes in substance, the new version is posted here with a new effective date at the top. There is no archive of previous versions; the current one is the one that applies.
